A dream bathroom isn’t the same for everyone. Some homeowners care about function the most and want an extremely organized space. Others want a spa-like experience to help them unwind at the end of the day. Here are some ways to create your dream bathroom:

If you prefer organization …
Layout – In order to have organization, you must have an efficient layout. Opt for an open-space design with a freestanding tub so you have more room for storage containers.

Closet – If you have a closet in or near your bathroom it can be organized perfectly. Install shelves that reach the top of the space. Then place toiletries, rolled up towels and cleaning supplies inside. If you wish you can label each storage spot so everyone knows where things belong.

Bins – Bins are another great organization tool. You can store extra toilet paper rolls inside or linens there instead. Also, you may want to toss in a few magazines for reading while lounging in your bath after a long evening at work.

Vanity – Choose the right vanity to fit your needs. Purchase a his-and-hers sink if you need enough counter space for two daily users. Don’t forget to organize your vanity space. On top of the counter you can place a tray with your perfume, makeup and other daily beauty items. Add drawer separators in the bottom cabinets so you can have a really organized space.

If you want a spa-like bathroom …
Clawfoot tub – If you want the ultimate relaxation experience, purchase a clawfoot tub. This cast iron tub holds heat very well, ensuring a warm and relaxing bath. Additionally, the double and single slipper models have a sloped design to allow you to sit with back support.

Antique bath fixtures – Be sure to pick up matching faucets for your clawfoot tub. Choose between the wall-mounted, floor-mounted and deck-mounted styles. Your selection will depend on the placement of your freestanding tub in your bathroom.

Standalone shower – For the occasions that you want an equally relaxing yet quick bathing experience, install a standalone shower. If you add body jets you’ll have a daily massage too.

Lighting – You don’t want stark lighting in your spa-like bathroom. So bring in wall sconces and pendant lights for a more subtle touch while you’re relaxing.
