Deciding on fixtures is certainly a personal design preference, but it can also be based around existing hardware, faucets or shower heads. There are finishes that can be used simultaneously and don’t look significantly different. For instance, polished chrome and polished nickel look similar while matte black and brushed brass finishes complement each other.
