From the seasonal allergies to the COVID-19 outbreak, keeping your home as clean and healthy as possible has never been more of a priority for you and your family’s safety. Well, lucky for you, Kingston is always here to help. We understand how important it is for you to keep your family safe and sound during these uncertain times. So, we have a list of five mistakes that can lead to an unhealthy home.

Unhealthy

Unhealthy Old Sponges

While sponges are made to help you clean your dishes and such, reusing the same sponge again and again is not healthy. Because they are always damp, they can pick up a lot of bacteria that are dangerous to you and your family. Make sure to replace your sponge every two or so to keep the bacteria away.

Shoes Inside the House

This may not cross your mind, but wearing your shoes indoors can be a health risk for you and your family. It can increase the germs and allergens that can cause your home to be unhealthy. So, make sure to take your shoes off outside or put them in a designated spot before you walk in the door.

Not Changing the AC Filters

As a homeowner, it is important for you to regularly check your heating or air conditioning system filters. Be sure to change them at least every three months to maintain healthy air within your home so you and your family are not breathing in dirt and dust.

Bad Bathroom Ventilation

Make sure to run the exhaust fan or have proper ventilation in your bathroom to reduce the possibility of mildew in your bathroom. By maintaining proper ventilation, you will help remove moisture in your bathroom and keep it clean for your family and prevent any unhealthy conditions from developing.

Unhealthy Water Filters

Just like your AC filters, you should be changing out your water filters to make sure you are always drinking clean water. Always keep on eye on the status of your water filter and have some spares nearby when it is time to change.
