What's the Difference between a Centerset a Widespread and a Single Hole Faucet?

Tony

Spacing

Centerset faucets are designed to be compact and save space, so they’re generally only available in four-inch spacing. This is the amount of space between the center to center two furthest holes. If a tape measure reveals a four-inch spacing, look for centerset faucets with the same spacing. Widespread faucets, as their name suggests, begin at eight inches and can measure up to 16 inches between the two furthest holes, the reason for the wide range of distances is because the spout and the handles are interconnected by hoses below the counter, it does not rely on a fixed size, a lesser known installation type is the mini-widespread, it is installed in the same manner as a widespread, the big difference is that both the handles and the spout are designed proportionately smaller to fit into a 4” center to center application, but we will go into more detail on each type of installation, Single hole sink configuration is another option which we will discuss below.

4 Inch centers

For those with limited space or in need of a flexible option, our 4-inch center installation is a popular choice. This layout is commonly found in secondary bathrooms, low-income housing, and rental properties. With a 4-inch center sink, you have the versatility to install 4" centerset faucetsmini-widespread faucets, or single-hole faucets with a deck plate. The centerset faucets are the easiest to install, as the valves and spout are all part of the faucet body. However, the mini-widespread option can pose some challenges due to the tight space under the counter.

8 inch centers

If you're looking for a more substantial and visually appealing option, our 8-inch center installation is ideal. Widespread faucets are commonly preferred for master suites and areas where you want to showcase a larger and more elegant faucet.

Single Hole

For a sleek and minimalistic aesthetic, our single-hole installation is a popular choice. While this style is more commonly seen in Europe, it is gaining popularity in the USA as well.

The clean lines and contemporary design of our single-hole faucets, such as the Concord collection LS8223DL, add a touch of elegance to any bathroom.
