Don’t bring 2018 with you to the New Year. One of the most popular New Year’s resolution is to get the house organized for a fresh start. However, like all New Year resolutions, it might just fall short from either lack of motivation or plain laziness. Completing any resolution is hard, however we believe that getting started is the hardest part. Once you have started, you’ll be rolling with the punches. Let’s make your goal achievable with these helpful organization solutions.

Be organized before you start organizing.

Make a checklist to narrow your focus. Work on one thing at a time. It can be overwhelming when you start thinking about all the places you have to clean; you won’t even know where to begin. First, decide on which room you want to start cleaning: bedroom, kitchen, living room, etc.

Second, choose what you want to focus on cleaning first in the room that you’ve decided: table, drawer, closet, etc. Most importantly, don’t forget to give yourself a time limit to ensure that you take a break. If you continuously clean with the urge to finish, you’ll quickly burn yourself out and won’t want to clean another other part of the house.

Find a purpose for your junk drawer.

Yes, we know about your junk drawer. Everyone has one and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. A junk drawer is just a normal drawer that’s keeps all your miscellaneous items. It’s usually easy to spot because it’s overflowing with useless junk that prevents you from closing it.

Let’s thank the junk drawer for its usefulness to store all our jumbled goods and give it an actual purpose. Depending on where your junk drawer is located, it up to you on what you want this drawer’s new purpose to be. But first things first, is to clear it out.

Keep what you need, and toss what you don’t.

There’s no point in keeping those old clothes, fabrics, and textiles for your next crafting project or waiting for your outdated clothes to come back in style. If they’ve been sitting untouched in your room for years, you already know deep down that you’re not going to use or wear them.

If you need them for the time, then simply go out and buy some. We’re all about being resourceful, but there’s a limit when it refrains you from storing new items. It’s easier to get rid of what you don’t want when you realize that someone else might have use for them. Remember that there’s always an option to donate clothes or furniture to people who actually might want them.

Easy Cleaning Tools

You may be slacking in your cleaning from the inefficiency of your resources at home. Encourage yourself to clean more this year with the right tools. Cleaning dishes or clothes may be easier with a faucet with a sprayer. We’ve been seeing more people use our kitchen faucet sprayers in their laundry rooms. It seems people like to have sprayers in their laundry room to easily rinse or help get rid of stains.
