The Top Bathroom Trends for 2018

We may be well into 2018 already, but that doesn’t mean we can’t discuss the latest and greatest trends for this year. We decided to take a look at the top trend predictions for 2018 and see which ones homeowners and designers are really loving, and actually using in their own projects. First up, we’ll talk about the bathroom trends that have been dominating in the design world.

1. House of Glass

This trend has been everywhere! While glass doors have long been used for showers, we’re now seeing them being used around tubs, and tub/shower combo units, and the foggy glass traditionally used around showers is being replaced with trendier window-pane styles. So long dingy shower curtain!

2. Concrete Jungle

At the intersection of industrial and natural, using concrete in the bathroom is a sure way to add a unique element to any bathroom. From accessories and decor pieces, to full vanities, we’re seeing a lot of creativity with this versatile medium.

3. Mixed Metals

Long gone are the days of matchy-matchy colors, patterns, and textures. Pair silver with gold, and copper with matte black; as long as the overall design has a cohesiveness to it, metal finishes don’t have to match! And that goes for texture and sheen as well, so don’t be afraid to mix it up.

4. Soak City

Back in the day if you wanted to be on top of the trends and show off your wealth a bit, it was en vogue to have a soaking tub in your bathroom. Freestanding tubs became scarce with the advent of the alcove and drop-in tubs, but now more and more people are again opting for a traditional piece of luxury. Soaking tubs are back in style, but with a contemporary twist! Going with a more minimalist approach and getting a tub with clean lines and a geometric feel will help keep your space looking fresh instead of outdated.

5. Back in Black

From Matte Black to Black Stainless, black metal is everywhere in the design! This trend can be used anywhere from decor pieces to furniture, but one of the best and easiest ways to seamlessly incorporate it into your home is in your metal hardware and appliances. The best part of about the Black Metal trend is that these pieces manage to simultaneously blend in, while also standing on their own. And with so many different design styles to choose from, you’ll have no problem fitting it into your current decor schemes.
