Side Sprayers or Pull-Down Sprayers?

A sprayer is an essential tool at the kitchen sink for knocking loose stubborn bits of food and grease. However, today’s homeowners have a lot of different styles of kitchen sink sprayers to choose from. Settling on just the right combination of spray options can seem a little overwhelming. Here are some considerations to help narrow down the decision.
Side Sprayers: Versatile
Side sprayers were once the only option, but they remain available today because of their versatility. Since these spray nozzles are placed to one side of the faucet, they reach easily around the whole sink for cleaning off the walls and edges. It’s a little harder to reach all the same spots with a pull-down sprayer, especially one mounted on a larger faucet. However, side sprayers take up more space, and they can cause more damage under the sink if they develop a leak.
Pull-Down Sprayers: Handy
Pull-down sprayers built right into the faucets have become the most popular option for rinsing off dishes and sinks. They’re easily incorporated into single-hole kitchen faucet designs to keep the sink streamlined and minimalist. This does limit their reach and versatility somewhat, though. Homeowners also enjoy the smoother slide of the hoses used for these sprayers, making them more enjoyable to use.
