If your bathroom design is looking a bit worn and dated, consider bringing in a new color. Select one dominant hue like blue to transform the entire space. Here are a few ways to work the color into your vintage bathroom design:

Wallpaper
Changing your wallpaper can completely transform the look of your room. Opt for a trendy print like chevron for a contemporary look. Or you can select a vintage damask motif to match your clawfoot tub. For a design fusion, add a horizontal striped paper print on your wall to serve as a bold backdrop for your vintage tub.

Curtains
You can also add more color to your room by changing the hue and print of your drapes. If you’re feeling playful, consider a blue polka dot print. Additionally, you can go with a solid color like dark navy or powder blue.

Tiles
Blue tiles add a serene feeling to a room. Select a dark hue for a dramatic effect or a light version for a subtle tone. You can use tile on a small scale (for example, as a perimeter around your vanity mirror), or you can go all out and install blue tiles on your walls and floors. If you choose an all-over tile treatment, opt for small squares in a range of blue colors like navy, aqua, sky and pale blue.

Accessories
There are seemingly endless ways you can revamp your room with blue accessories. Shop around for vases, storage containers, bowls and more in this vibrant hue. Place them around your bathroom for a cohesive look. If you have a window sill, place a vase full of fresh blooms on top of the ledge. Add blue frames on the walls in strategic places around the room like on a far back wall or leaning against a corner.

If you are short on space, bring in items that are functional and work toward your blue style theme. For example, a vase full of blue bath beads looks great sitting on a shelf. Then all you have to do is pour a few beads into a tub full of warm water and you’re set for a nice bath.

Antique furniture
Do you have an old dresser or chair that has seen better days? Sand it down and repaint it to use it in the bathroom. It will add a pop of color and will help you feel relaxed and stress free.
